パパはお仕事に出かけてしまったので、かいけと二人で
アパートの裏庭で遊びました。裏庭にはウサギの足跡が沢山。
ウサギさん雪を掘って、下にある草を食べたのかな？あちこちに穴もありました。
かいけはそり遊びをして、その後はママに雪玉をぶつけてご満悦でした。
ママはちょっとくたびれちゃった・・・
January 30th. Rode on a sled in the backyard
Because dad had gone to the work, Kaike and mom played in the backyard of our apartment house.
We found many rabbits' foot prints! They may eat grass under the snow, so we could see many holes
everywhere in the snow. Kaike enjoyed a sled, then throwing snowballs at mom...
Mom got tired playing with Kaike a little bit...
すっかりその気のかいけです。
「年の数だけしか食べられないの？」
年上の方がお徳ね♪
豆まきよりも豆を食べる方が忙しいかいけ一家でした。
Since I didn't know how to express our traditional ceremony, looked up in the dictionary.
The dictionary says that Setsubun is "the day before the beginning of spring"
and Mamemaki is "the bean-scattering ceremony celebrating the coming of spring"
Kaike's grand mother sent her soybeans and devil masks.
We enjoyed this Japanese tradition in the U.S.
When scatter the beans, we shout, "Out with the devil! In with good fortune! "
Then eat beans as many as one's own age.
We prefer eating to the tradition.
1月23日今週は”ディズニーオンアイス”へお出かけ。
プログラムは”ニモ” でした。かいけパパとかいけママは
「衣装がちょっとグロテスクで奇妙・・・それにコスチュームのせいで
ジャンプやスピンがあんまり出来ないしぃ。」
って思いましたが、かいけは喜んでいたので、ま、いっかぁ。
January 23rd. The event on this weekend was "Disney
On Ice".
The program was "Finding Nemo". Papa and Mama thought
" Costumes are grotesque and bizarre... Besides, They prevent sketers
from jumping or spining."Anyway, Kaike enjoyed the show very much.
This is the most important point...

かいけの中耳炎も治ったので、かいけ一家じっとしていられず雪の中に飛び出しました。
動物園では、一月中は真冬日の天気予報の日（最高気温が氷点下）には「polar bear days」として、
入園料の割引をしてくれます。この日の最高気温は-5.6℃の予報でしたので、polar bear dayです！
January 16th at the Zoo
Kaike's tympanitis has gotten well, so we could not stay inside any more!
We went to the zoo in the snow. During the month of January, the zoo has an event called
"Polar Bear Days"(the predicted high temperature for that day is under zero or below,
it will be declared a "Polar Bear Day" at the Zoo. ) and the admission fee will be cut in half!
Because today's high temperature was predicted as -5.6 degrees, today was a polar bear day!

まずは、折角のPolarBear day！ホッキョクグマを見ないと始まりません。
熊さんを見て大満足のかいけ！ちなみに他には人っ子一人いませんでした。
こんな物好きはかいけ一家くらい・・・
Everybody thinks that it is enough to see the RainForest in this freezing day, however
the Kaike's Family could not be satisfied with it. Since the day was the "Polar Bear"day,
we could not leave the zoo without seeing Polar Bears!!!
See Kaike's pleased smile!!! ( No one could bee seen around the bears except Kaike's family)
